Why do you stare at your reflection in disgust?
What makes you hate yourself so much?
You and I see different things in your reflection
You see grotesque and rotund, even hideous.

However, I see something that you never do
I see fair skin, with cheeks flushed red
Lips, small and as pink as a rose petal

I see eyes that are as deep as the ocean
With two bright blue irises, just as beautiful
And hair the color of earth just after a rainstorm

I see beauty in the curves of your body
In the way you smile and laugh
And in the way you talk.

You may think to truly hate yourself,
Until the end of time itself
But I could never hate you
For you are me, as I am you.

And know this,
I love you
Even if you don't believe it
Just know that it is true.
Hey everyone, Mikoto here. Yeah, this is just a little free verse poem that I wrote after thinking too long while showering. Hope this doesn't come off as conceded, since this was supposed to be more encouragement to love myself. Granted it feels hard to do that, but I hope that all of you love yourselves despite everything that you think is wrong and horrible.

I probably botched that and probably pissed off some people, that certainly was not what I wanted to do.

ANYWAY, have a good day, afternoon, and night everyone!

Bye-bye!
